Start a Couponing Club!
Like couponing? If you’ve been couponing for a while, something that may occur to you is the thought to start a couponing club. A club is a semi-formal to casual group of fun couponers who get together and talk about couponing. This is a great way to learn more about couponing and make friends with people who enjoy one of your favorite new hobbies. But there’s so much more to benefit from starting a couponing club!
Decide on the rules of the group. Before you jump in with both feet to start a club, sit down and decide what type of club you want. Do you want one that has strict rules? Do you want something more casual? Most couponing clubs get together regularly, but it’s up to you to decide what that means – you could meet every week, once every other week or once every month. If you know a few people already interested in the coupon club, sit down with them to start to decide how the club should be structured.
Look for & invite members. Finding members to your couponing club will be pretty simple. Most people want to save more money when they go grocery shopping. If your friends and family have seen you be a successful couponer, then they may be especially curious about joining. You could invite your neighbors and others you know in your community. Try posting about your coupon club on social media too, so friends can invite their friends.
Help guide new members. One of the most important things your coupon club should do is to guide new members into how couponing works. When members join, get a sense of how experienced they are. Ask them if they will help mentor new members who have not couponed before. Remember that even new members can become great couponers with a little practice and could teach you someday.
Motivate each other to reach new goals. Don’t miss the opportunity to encourage group members to achieve more with their coupon shopping. You can let each other know what you would like to do. Other group members may make suggestions. Or simply listen. The fact that you have to check in with other group members in the couponing group is often very motivating to encourage a member to achieve tasks.
Do charity couponing projects together for Thanksgiving or at other times. This is a fun project you can all do as a group. Why not help your community while couponing at the same time? Look at local charities and see which one you would like to help the most. It may be a food pantry or other charity that feeds the hungry, such as low income senior citizens. Set a goal to make a donation together. What makes it even more fun is to deliver it together to the charity!
Celebrate your savings! If your group members are doing their best to use coupons at the grocery store to save money for their families, then do celebrate when you save. It is fun to set a goal for something you can do with the money you are keeping in your pocket, whether it is a vacation or something you can do together as a family like horseback riding lessons. Best of all, seeing group members achieve these savings goals only serves to motivate even more, to achieve their goals too!
